Swinton Grove Park is a city park in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester.
The friends are a group of local residents who work as volunteers to improve the park for everyone. With help from Manchester Leisure we have been able to completely transform the park in recent years, putting in a new children's play area, sports area, quiet area with plants and flowers, benches, tables, new signs, gates and railings. For many years we organised and ran a Family Fun Day in the park, and since 2021 have run a Community Christmas Tree Lights Switch-on event. After a break in 2019, we were planning to bring Fun Day back in 2020, but had to cancel due to Coronavirus precautions. Since Covid, Fun Day has been on hold until fresh local volunteers can be found to help organise it.
