The Fun Day took place every July on a (usually) sunny Saturday from 2002 until 2018. The Fun Day grew over the years to see as many as 800 people come along for a great day out. Photos from our most recent Fun Day are here.
Attractions have included food, live music, DJ, children's entertainers, crafts, face-painting (50p), prize bingo, bouncy castle and other inflatables. There have been stalls from local organisations and places such as Grove Village, Elizabeth Gaskell's House and Victoria Baths. There was also a very popular 5-a-side football competition for young people, and often a visit from the Lord Mayor. Thanks to support from Manchester City Council's Neighbourhood Fund we were able to (despite "the Cuts") put on the Fun Day as a free event. In recent years Fun Day has not been possible first because of Covid restrictions and then the need for new members for the Friends Group to help organise it. Watch this space for news about it resuming. |
